One week into the NFL season, New York Jets coach Aaron Glenn is already threatening to bench some of his players.

Glenn issued a firm threat to his players following the Jets’ 34-32 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Specifically citing penalties and turnovers, Glenn said that he would not hesitate to sit players on the bench if they continued to cost the team games.

“You will not be on the field if you cause us to lose games,” Glenn said, via Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic .

The Jets only committed one turnover in the form of a fumble on a Xavier Gipson punt return early in the fourth quarter. That turnover set the Steelers up with a short field, which they used to score a touchdown. The Jets also committed seven penalties f
