BLUEFIELD, WV (WVNS) - The Bluefield State University Big Blue and Concord University Mountain Lions combined for a shootout in their 2025 Battle for the Blue Ridge.

The Big Blue got the scoring started early in the first quarter. Jake Simmons scampered for a 4-yard run to cap off an 8-drive. Bluefield State followed that up with another score later on in the first - where quarterback Wesley Thompson got in the endzone on a 1-yard run.

The tides began to turn in the second quarter, when former Princeton Tiger and WVU Mountaineer Dom Collins reeled in a pass from Concord quarterback Tyler Mizzell and took it to 33 yards to the house for the Mountain Lions' first score.

The Big Blue got back on the board with another Thompson 1-yard run. Kicker Danny Dales extended the lead with a 39-yard
