SEYMOUR, Conn. — A Seymour fire caused "significant damage" to a pizza restaurant Sunday morning, closing the business along with a neighboring Chinese restaurant for an unknown period of time, according to the town's fire department.

No one was hurt and the affected businesses were closed during the fire, the Seymour Fire Department said.

Seymour firefighters went to the fire at Hot & Grill Pizza on 59 New Haven Road at 7:40 a.m.

The first arriving crew found a fire inside the pizza restaurant that extended into the attic, according to the Seymour Fire Department. Firefighters then forced their way inside and brought the flames under control with an "aggressive interior attack."
