MARION, Ill. (KFVS) - The Market Street Music Conservatory Adult Choir will perform at the White House Open House on December 20.

The choir was selected after Choir Director Elizabeth Shore submitted a video of a choir performance to the White House Facebook page.

Shore says the selection to perform was so unexpected that she hadn’t even told the Market Street Music Director that she had applied.

Music Director, April Mitter was speechless, “Elizabeth called me Friday afternoon and told me she had some exciting news about the adult choir. I had no idea what surprise she could be speaking of, but singing at the White House was not even on my radar. I was elated!”

Choir members will have to pay their own way to Washington, D.C. The expenses could be several hundred dollars per member.
