AUSTIN (KXAN) — If you like golf, good music and fun, you won't want to miss the 19th Hole Party.
The gathering will celebrate Lions Municipal Golf Course as an integral part of Austin.
Lions Municipal Golf Course, also known as MUNY, was the first public golf course in the city of Austin and the first course to desegregate in the South.
The course has been serving Austinites and visitors to Austin for more than 100 years, but the future of the course is unknown, with talks of possible development coming up over the years.
The golf course is operated by the city of Austin, but it's owned by the University of Texas, which has leased the land to the city since the 1930s.
The MUNY Conservancy, which took on the roll of raising awareness and making sure the course continues on, said event
