PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Two hikers are in the hospital recovering after being rescued off trails on Camelback Mountain Saturday afternoon.

Around 2:30 p.m., Phoenix fire crews responded to the Cholla Trailhead for reports of a hiker experiencing heat-related issues. The hiker told crews she was dizzy and weak.

Crews were able to find her on the trail and take her to the bottom of the mountain using the Big Wheel stretcher. Once off the trail, she was taken to the hospital to be evaluated.

A short time later, crews were called out to a second mountain rescue at the Echo Canyon Trailhead . Fire crews were able to find the hiker, who was also experiencing heat-related issues.

After finding him, crews determined the best way to get him off the mountain was by airlifting the hiker. Once
