The Auburn Police Department arrested Harold Rashad Dabney III, of Montgomery, in connection to the death of retired Auburn professor Julie Gard Schnuelle .
The 59-year-old victim was attacked and killed, police say. Her body was found in a wooded area in Kiesel Park on Saturday afternoon and identified by the Lee County Coroner's Office. Police believe she was walking her dog when she was attacked. The dog was unharmed.
Dabney was charged with two counts of capital murder. Investigators believe he stole a red Ford F-150 truck after the attack and fled the scene. He was later arrested on Beehive Road.
Dabney is being held without bond.
Schnuelle's body will be transported by the Lee County Coroner’s Office to ADFS Montgomery Medical for postmortem exam.
