Bremerton police on Friday arrested a man suspected of impersonating an Edmonds police detective, after the man showed up at an active crime scene investigation.
Bremerton police said in a Facebook post that the Lacey man worked as a security guard, but had been “committing law enforcement acts in the downtown corridor.”
The man showed up to a crime scene in Bremerton early Friday in an unmarked Ford Explorer with police lights flashing, Bremerton police said in the post, adding that the man identified himself as an off-duty police officer. He was wearing body armor with “police” and “SWAT” badges, as well as a metallic Edmonds police badge, according to authorities.
