There was hope that the Mike Vrabel era in New England would start off with a bang in Sunday's season opener against the Las Vegas Raiders. Instead, it started off with a whimper, as a mistake-heavy second half led to a 20-13 loss for the Patriots on their home field.
The Patriots looked like they suddenly had it all figured out after the first drive of the game. Their defense got after Raiders quarterback Geno Smith consistently, Ashton Jeanty wasn't even mentioned and Drake Maye was dealing on offense.
