Under the lights of Jordan-Hare Stadium, Auburn handled business in its home opener Saturday night.

It wasn’t the cleanest performance from the Tigers, but it was certainly good enough against an inferior opponent as Auburn moved to 2-0 on the season, defeating Ball State 42-3.

It was a dominant performance by Auburn’s defense as the Tigers shut down a Ball State offense that was shut out by Purdue last week.

Meanwhile, the Auburn offense let things turn loose and slung the football around the field against the Cardinals – a 180-degree turn from how head coach Hugh Freeze and offensive coordinator Derrick Nix operated the Tigers’ offense last week against Baylor.
