FREDERICKSBURG, Texas — The second-largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history — a staggering $1.8 billion — has been won, and this time, there are two lucky winners: one in Missouri and one in the Texas Hill Country town of Fredericksburg.

The Texas winning ticket was sold at a convenience store fittingly named Big’s — a new addition to the area that’s now basking in national spotlight.

"We are a brand-new store. We opened the end of February of this year, so this is great excitement for us," said Melanie Carter, the store's manager. "You know, it's also a blessing for whoever the winner was."

The buzz has been nonstop at Big’s, where Carter and her team have already crafted their own celebratory signage, proudly written on the front doors.
