HILLSBORO Ore. (KPTV) - An entire community has been grieving for a year after Providence nurse Melissa Jubane was killed last September. Since then, her supporters have rallied for an end to violence against women. On Sunday, they shared Melissa’s stories in Hillsboro.

Amberglen Park, Melissa’s favorite, was filled with music and memories as friends and supporters gathered to commemorate one year since her death.

“If you were on Melissa’s good side she had a Snapchat video of you with a silly filter,” said one speaker.

Melissa Jubane was 32, married for just two weeks and working as a nurse at Providence St. Vincent’s, when she was found murdered days after disappearing from her Beaverton apartment complex. Her neighbor, 28-year-old Bryce Schubert, was arrested.
