Pierce Clarkson, a redshirt sophomore backup quarterback on the UCLA football team, was arrested Friday afternoon on unspecified felony charges, according to Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department records

Clarkson, who transferred to UCLA from Ole Miss in the spring after spending his previous two seasons at Louisville, was consequently “indefinitely suspended” from the football team following his arrest.

“We are aware of the charges against Pierce Clarkson,” a UCLA Athletics spokesperson said in a statement to the Southern California News Group on Sunday evening. “He has been indefinitely suspended from all team activity pending the outcome of the legal process. This situation will be evaluated by the UCLA Office of Student Conduct and any further action taken will be in accordance with that
