SOUTH HERO, Vt. (WCAX) - Apples and puppies, a special treat to cap off the weekend.

Hackett’s Orchard put on a pet adoption event Sunday.

For the Love of Dogs in Vermont brought some of their furry friends looking for a home to the orchard for meet and greets with potential owners.

Kids were able to play with the puppies, and some were connecting really well with the dogs.

Staff from For the Love of Dogs thinks they will get a few adoptions from Sunday’s event.

Even if you can’t adopt or foster, they are always in need of help.

“If you can’t adopt or foster, we always need volunteers to come and hold leashes here or to process applications, to help us get dogs to vet appointments, that sort of thing,” Melissa Goldberg, the For the Love of Dogs co-director said.
