Minot, N.D. (KXNET)- Right now, city leaders in Minot are talking about future needs for the police department, which chief Michael Frye says means a larger police station.
In a presentation to the city council earlier this week, the chief presented his recommendations. That would include expanding the patrol unit from just under 2,000 square feet to more than 5,000. He also hopes to put in an elevator, and expand the space for records and the police locker room. So far, the budget estimate is around $14 million for the police expansion, which council member Mike Blessum says he's not happy with considering they're not replacing the building's roof.
