Rob Edwards says his decision to not name a permanent Middlesbrough captain remains unchanged, despite Dael Fry wearing it in every league game so far this season.

The Teessider has led by example with the armband, putting in solid performances at the heart of Boro ’s defence this term. He’s been a major factor behind Boro’s excellent start to the season, with four wins from four and three clean sheets.

Fry has worn the captain’s armband in every game, despite Edwards’ previous decision to not name a Boro captain. He instead said he planned to pass it around the group, as he did in pre-season, in order to try and promote more leadership within the Boro squad.
