Tommy Conway says Middlesbrough players took accountability this summer for the failures of last season, vowing to make things right on and off the pitch this term.
Boro finished tenth in a disappointing campaign, which ultimately led to the dismissal of Michael Carrick. In his place this season is new head coach Rob Edwards, who has started really well with Boro winning all four of their league games in their best start since 1994.
While Edwards deserves plenty of acclaim for the changes he’s brought about, particularly tactically, Conway explained how the players took it upon themselves this summer to review last season’s failures and make the appropriate changes to ensure whoever was leading them this season had a solid base to build from.
