Police presence in village no cause for concern, cops say

WAPPINGERS FALLS – A constant presence of Wappingers Falls police and the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office on East Main Street in the village was no cause for public concern, according to police officials at the scene. A deceased man was found in an apartment at 2650 East Main Street on Sunday, following a welfare check after the person had not been seen in a few days.

The man’s body was recovered by the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office.

“There is no criminal investigation at this time,” the police told Mid-Hudson News . “The public need not be alarmed by today’s (Sunday’s) activities, as no threat to public safety currently exists.”
