MIDDLETOWN – The 16-year-old who allegedly shot a 17-year-old in the back three times in the barbershop at 6 West Main Street in Middletown last Wednesday has been charged with attempted murder.

The young man, whose name was not made public because of his age, was remanded to a juvenile detention facility in lieu of $200,000 cash bail, $400,000 partially secured bond, or $800,000 full bond.

The victim, who it is believed knew the shooter, was transported to Garnet Health Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill for treatment of his wounds.
