FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WWLP) - The New England Patriots kicked off their regular season with a home opener in Foxborough on Sunday, facing a loss amid pouring rain.

Despite the challenging weather conditions, Patriots fans remained undeterred as they gathered to support their team.

"It's fantastic, I wish it was snowing, but I'll take the rain, I hope it pours," said Eric Noone, expressing enthusiasm despite the weather.

"I remember watching Mike Vrabel play over many years. He's just awesome, I think he is going to be a great coach," said Diane Snyder of Pittsfield.

"Stefon Diggs will make a big difference. Help out all the other wide receivers, hopefully a little bit more explosiveness," said Trevor Magnuski of West Palm Beach, Florida.
