(WFSB) - A new CBS News poll shows that fewer Americans support tariffs, and it’s starting to affect how people shop.
Since June, support for tariffs in the U.S. has dropped, a modest shift that researchers say is having a tangible effect on consumer behavior.
According to the poll, 55% of Americans say tariffs have had no impact on their buying decisions.
However, 39% report spending less on imported goods, particularly at places like grocery stores, due to rising prices.
The poll also reveals a strong political divide on the issue.
