The Hawaii women’s volleyball team aced its way to the Outrigger Invitational tournament title on Sunday.

The Rainbow Wahine finished one shy of the program record for aces in a match with 16 and swept St. John’s 25-20, 25-9, 25-13 to win the tournament via a tiebreaker at Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.

Cha’lei Reid had a career- high six aces and senior Tyla Reese Mane added a career- high five to send home a crowd of 3,370 just 1 hour and 30 minutes after first serve.

Hawaii’s first match of the season that started on time and wasn’t delayed due to the length of the match before it turned out to to be its shortest. The Rainbow Wahine (2-4) have won six consecutive sets after starting the season 0-4 for the first time in program history.
