State Senator Bobby Hanig announces bid for 1st District seat in U.S. Congress

Bobby Hanig announced his run for Congress.

On the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 3, State Senator Bobby Hanig (R-Currituck) announced that he will run for Congress next year in North Carolina’s 1st Congressional District.

Hanig said, “I am proud to announce my candidacy for United States Congress and the first Congressional District of North Carolina. I’m running because Northeastern North Carolina deserves true conservative leadership that will fight for our community and the America First Agenda.”

Hanig, a Republican small business owner and Army veteran, is serving his second term in the State Senate, representing Bertie, Camden, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Hertford, Northampton, Pasquotank, Perquimans and Tyre
