N.C. State football faces its first road test of the 2025 season on Thursday, Sept. 11 (7:30 p.m., ESPN) as the Wolfpack travels to Winston-Salem to open conference play against in-state rival Wake Forest .

The Wolfpack (2-0) enters the matchup riding high after a wild 35-31 win over Virginia in Week 2. Quarterback CJ Bailey and running back Hollywood Smothers stole the show in the shootout, each rushing for two touchdowns to keep N.C. State unbeaten.

Wake Forest (2-0) is coming off a 42-10 blowout win over Western Carolina, led by running back Demond Claiborne, who racked up 192 yards and three scores. The Demon Deacons got the better of N.C. State last season, pulling out a 34-30 win in Week 6.
