Walking to class, Kaitlynn White still cant believe shes a student at USF. Growing up in the foster care system, she cycled through more than 50 foster homes in 15 years. She says attending college was the furthest thing from her mind.
It impacted my school, it impacted my mental health, my physical health, it literally impacted every single aspect of my life, said White. Aging out of care I really didnt have a family or support system to really bridge that gap to help me get to the places I needed to be and where I could be.
Thats when she was introduced to Effie Santos, founder of the non-profit organization Madis Movement.
