Coronation Street star Harriet Bibby has been flooded with messages of love and support as she opened up about her dad's three-month battle.

The actress, who is best known for playing Summer Spellman in the ITV soap, was seen taking part in the Great North Run over the weekend.

Having crossed the finish line and celebrated the feat, Harriet has opened up to her followers about the poignancy of her dad also taking part in the event, which saw 60,000 incredible participants ran from the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne to South Shields.

First taking to her Instagram Story on Monday (September 8), the soap star shared a picture of her finishers medal and said: "Just contemplating yesterday... My 5th Great North Run in the bag and a new PB [personal best]!
