EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Crews with the Michigan Department of Transportation will begin phase one of the Haslett Road reconstruction project on Monday.

Haslett Road will be closed from Hagadorn Road to Park Lake Road for repaving.

Both intersections will remain open during construction. One westbound lane will stay open on Haslett Road for local traffic only.

Earlier this year, the East Lansing City Council approved the project, which will reduce Haslett Road from four lanes to three and add a dedicated bike lane.

Phase one is expected to be completed by mid-November, with phase two scheduled to begin in April.
