President Donald Trump is considering deploying the National Guard to cities such as Chicago, Baltimore and possibly New Orleans, amid rising tensions with Democratic-led cities.

Although there has been little movement so far, the president's border czar, Tom Homan, announced on Sunday that federal law enforcement action is expected to reach Chicago this week.

Community leaders in Chicago are preparing for an influx of National Guard troops and immigration agents.

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker has been vocal in his opposition to the president's rhetoric, stating on X , formerly Twitter, "This is not a joke." He also said, This is not normal."
