The Medical for Quality Healthcare in Zambia (MQHZ) has raised alarm over the growing abuse of unregulated herbal medicines and sex boost supplements marketed as physical enhancers, warning that the practice is fueling cases of cancer and other life-threatening complications.

MQHZ director-general Dr. Quince Mwabu noted with concern the dangerous trend of mixing sildenafil (Viagra), a prescription drug, with herbal concoctions to treat erectile dysfunction in men, saying the practice poses grave health risks that could lead to death.

He further cautioned against the reckless sale of products claiming to enhance physical attributes, describing them as both deceptive and hazardous.
