Ben Simmons has had a rough summer. An unrestricted free agent, it’s baffling to think that the former three-time all-star hasn’t latched on to a team with training camp despite garnering interest from a couple of contenders. It’s not just him, though. Some notable veterans and restricted free agents remain unsigned in the market.

The Australian-born Simmons has struggled mightily after his unceremonious exit from the Sixers three years ago. He spent two and a half unfruitful seasons with Brooklyn before toiling with the Clippers for half a season in 2025.

But Ben Simmons in a Philly jersey again? That seemed a possibility, according to Bleacher Report journalist Jake Fischer.
