It wasn’t Grand Valley State’s cleanest football game, but the third-ranked Lakers overcame an early miscue to stay unbeaten with a 48-36 win over Black Hills State Saturday in front of a Lubbers Stadium crowd of 13,836.

Redshirt freshman quarterback and Clinton Township Chippewa Valley grad Andrew Schuster completed 22 of 32 passes for 391 yards and four touchdowns, picking up the slack for a rushing attack that managed just 44 yards on 22 carries against the South Dakota-based Yellow Jackets.
