Anyone looking to win an election in the UK generally steers clear of criticising – or even dragging too far into politics at all – two things: the NHS and the royal family . Combining the two subjects, by commenting on the health of the royals, is a near-absolute no-no.

That memo did not seem to reach Dr Aseem Malhotra, an honoured guest speaker at Reform UK’s party conference last week, giving the only health-focused talk from its main stage. Malhotra, a vaccine skeptic who acts as an advisor for Robert F Kennedy Jr’s “Make America Healthy Again” initiative, used the platform to repeat baseless claims about vaccines.
