SACRAMENTO, Calif. —

The start of the workweek for Northern California is likely to see temperatures below average for this time of year, while the Sierra could experience strong, gusty winds.

Meteorologist Kelly Curran said Monday's forecast high for downtown Sacramento is 83 degrees, a dip from the 87 degrees recorded Sunday. The average for this time of year is 90 degrees.

The Foothills could see highs in the low 80s, while the Sierra could peak in the low 70s.

The National Weather Service issued a lake wind advisory around the Lake Tahoe area for southwestern wind gusts of up to 30 mph that could create lake waves around one to three feet high.
