ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The Hungerford Building on North Goodman Street is facing foreclosure.

Court documents obtained by News 8 say that action is pending in court against the defendants for foreclosure of a mortgage agreement. The agreement was dated April 27, 2022, in the principal amount of over $8 million.

Furthermore, it was alleged that the last 100 names of the defendants were fictitious or unknown to the plaintiff, the people intended to be the tenants, occupants, or parties.

The Hungerford is described as a "home to wonderful artists and businesses." It recently saw the Seed + Stone Cidery close its taproom last March. The owners said recent changes at the building were a factor in its closure.
