Paris-based sales company Urban has boarded “Children of Liberty,” a long-gestated New York-set animated adventure from the Oscar-nominated producers of “Ernest & Celestine.”

Adapted from Robert H. Lieberman’s novel “The Nazis, My Father and Me,” “Children of Liberty” is produced by Didier and Damien Brunner through their banner Folivari . The feature is directed by Rémy Schaepman and Léahn Vivier-Chapas.

Born in the Bronx to Holocaust survivor parents, Lieberman co-wrote the screenplay adaptation. His novel earned praises upon its release, including in the New York Times which praised the novelist for his “a sharp eye for the incongruous and the humor that can accompany desperate happenings.”
