LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Attorney General Tim Griffin and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock have joined forces to launch an initiative aimed at combating opioid overdoses.

Griffin said he joined UA-Little Rock Chancellor Christina Drale to kick off the One Pill Can Kill initiative, a campus-focused program about the dangers of fentanyl.

The attorney general said it will provide hands-on training for student leaders to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose, how to administer naloxone and learning how to test medications or beverages for fentanyl.

The initiative was launched in October 2024 at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with plans to expand to more colleges. It is funded by opioid settlement funds managed by Griffin’s office.
