ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — According to documents obtained by WGRZ from the Erie County Stadium Corporation, a crane incident in January 2025 caused damage to the underground mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems of the new Buffalo Bills Stadium.

Each month, JM Consultants provides an independent construction update for the $2.3B stadium project. This firm is hired by the Buffalo Bills to oversee the progress being made by the construction firm Gilbane|Turner.

In the "January Monthly Progress Update 2025," which was submitted to the state on March 4, 2025, the incident was mentioned in the Schedule Critical Path analysis. This section of the report follows activities that have a negative float, which directly impact the 'substantial' completion date of the stadium.
