MEIGS, Ga. (WCTV) - The City of Meigs was awarded $1 million as part of Georgia’s Community Development Block Grants.
As one of 36 local communities awarded funds, Meigs plans to use the funding for water system improvements on Church, Railroad, Mil, Cabin, Vine, Palmer, Bay, Marshall, Depot and Crawford Streets.
According to the proposal sent to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, this project will benefit 283 people, most of whom are low to moderate-income.
