COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Officials said a Columbia man was sentenced to federal prison on firearm and drug charges.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office said a judge sentenced 34-year-old Terrance Demetrius Bass to 80 months, or just over six-and-a-half years, in federal prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and marijuana.
Prosecutors said that evidence from an investigation found Bass was approached by Columbia police officers in December 2022 after tips that people were selling drugs out of a vehicle. Officers reported smelling marijuana from the car, prompting a search that yielded 295 pills containing methamphetamine and 91 grams of marijuana packaged for distribution.
A firearm was also found in the glove compartment. Bass
