COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - South Carolina’s Vicari Swain earned SEC honors for the second straight week on Monday.

Swain was named the SEC co-Special Teams Player of the Week after returning two consecutive punts for touchdowns in the Gamecocks’ 38-10 win over South Carolina State on Saturday. Swain shared the weekly honor with Ole Miss kicker Lucas Carneiro.

It was the first time in program history that one player returned two punts or kicks for touchdowns in a single game.

The redshirt sophomore also scored on a return in South Carolina’s season-opening win over Virginia Tech on Aug. 31, which won him the first SEC Special Teams Player of the Week award.
