WALTHAM -- The art of leather making seems to be fading, but not for those who’ve spent a lifetime mastering it.

At Treestump leather in Waltham... Chris Kravitt combines art with usability.

He’s been in the industry for 55 years; traveling the country and selling his products.

“Started in 1970, and I was a typical 60’s 70’s hippie leather worker. I was going around to craft fairs. I did belts and pocketbooks, vests, and pouches, wristbands, watchbands, and wallets. Pretty much you name it," says Chris Kravitt, owner of Treestump Leather.

The niche he specializes in is knife sheaths.

Kravitt has been featured in Blade Magazine several times for his work, and even the Field and Stream publication.
