A local “mobile office hours” session hosted by the staff of U.S. Rep. Mike Simpson, R-Idaho, on Aug. 28 was delayed by one hour but not canceled, a spokeswoman told the Express.
The session, scheduled from 1-3 p.m. at the Hailey Public Library, was intended to help residents with Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid inquiries.
Ketchum resident Mike Hoover said he left at 1:45 p.m. after no staff arrived. About 12 of 15 attendees had also left by that time, he estimated.
“This happened in June as well. A member of [Simpson’s] staff was an hour late and left at exactly 3 p.m.,” he said. “This is part of a wider pattern of Representative Simpson being unresponsive and blatantly ignoring his constituents.”
Hailey resident Gini Ballou said she left after 20 minutes of waiting on Thursday
