Prior to Week 3 of the high school football season, Dave Campbell’s Texas Football has released its Top 10 rankings and the Richland Springs Coyotes are the local climbers of the week.

Following a 42-14 victory over the May Tigers Friday night, the Coyotes (1-1) have jumped from No. 4 to No. 3 in the latest Class A Division II rankings, behind only No. 1 Jayton (1-0) and No. 2 Klondike (2-0).

Meanwhile, following their first loss of the season, May (1-1) slid from No. 2 to No. 3 in the Class A Division I Top 10 and trails No. 1 Gordon (2-0) and No. 2 Water Valley (2-0).

Regarding other teams of interest to local schools, Stephenville (2-0) is No. 4 in Class 4A Division I, Jim Ned (2-0) is No. 10 in Class 3A Division I, Wall (2-0) is No. 3 in Class 3A Division II, Albany (2-0) is No. 4 i
