Kenneth R. Weinstein has been named CBS News ombudsman by the network’s parent company, Paramount.
Reporting to Jeff Shell , Paramount’s president, Weinstein will serve as an independent, internal advocate for journalistic integrity and transparency, reviewing concerns raised by employees and viewers, addressing questions about news coverage, and upholding the organization’s longstanding commitment to accuracy and accountability.
All CBS News complaints from whatever party will be directed to Weinstein, who will then review them and determine their validity. If they require further action, these complaints will be put in front of Shell and George Cheeks , Paramount’s chair of TV media.
