DULUTH, Minn. — With schools now in session, the Duluth Police Department has released the number of stop arm violations occurring in the past two years.
The Duluth Police Department reports an increase in the amount of violations, with 142 in 2024, the highest for the last three years.
So far in 2025 there has been 40 violations, with one taking place the first day of school.
Drivers are encouraged to slow down and prepare to stop near buses. When the bus has red flashing lights with the stop arm extended, drivers must stop and wait until the bus continues.
