ESCONDIDO, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI)-- Forward progress has been stopped on a brush fire that sparked in the 2200 block of San Pasqual Valley Road in Escondido around 11 a.m. Monday, according to CAL FIRE/ San Diego County Fire.

What has been dubbed the "Flora Fire" spread approximately three acres as of 10:37 a.m. and was threatening structures in the area.

According to CAL FIRE, the fire was spreading at a moderate rate before forward progress was stopped around 11 a.m.

Authorities are urging people to avoid the area as fire personnel are working on or near the roadway.
