Michigan State’s Big Ten opener will be a real late-night game on the West Coast.

The Spartans (2-0) play at USC (2-0) on Sept. 20 in a game that will kick off at 11 p.m. ET (8 p.m. PT) and broadcast by FOX, the conference announced on Monday afternoon.

Michigan State hasn’t faced USC since a 17-16 win in the John Hancock Bowl to close the 1990 season but they’re now part of the same conference. The Spartans last faced the Trojans at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in a 1978 loss and the all-time series is tied at 4-4.

The game will be a homecoming for Michigan State coach Jonathan Smith and starting quarterback Aidan Chiles, both Southern California natives.
