SHREVEPORT, La. -- A Shreveport man has been arrested on several charges stemming from an investigation into allegations of workers compensation fraud and perjury. Maurice Williams, 43, is the former 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals information technology director. The Louisiana Bureau of Investigation opened an investigation after receiving information from a Caddo-based LDOJ special assistant attorney general that Williams allegedly committed workers compensation fraud after claiming a work-related injury at his place of employment. State Attorney General Liz Murrill said the investigation showed Williams committed perjury by supplying a forged email, purportedly from his attorney, in support of his fraudulent claim during a deposition.
