SHREVEPORT, La. -- Two Shreveport men will spend time in prison for their crimes after admitting their guilt separately in Caddo District Court. Deontae Horton - attempted murder Deontae Horton, 22, who shot his victim during the course of a robbery, pleaded guilty in Caddo District Court late last month and was sentenced to serve 15 year in prison. Horton entered the plea on Aug. 27 before District Judge Ramona Emanuel to the charge of attempted second-degree murder with regard to the shooting that occurred Oct. 9, 2023, in the 1700 block of Alma Street. During the robbery, Horton fired a shot that struck the victim in his back. The sentence must be served with credit for time served.
