BENTON COUNTY, Wash. – Five stranded jet skiers on the Columbia River were rescued by Benton County sheriff’s deputies and the Richland Fire Department on Sunday evening.

Two jet skis had gotten stuck on a sandbar near Bateman Island, according to a social media post from the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.

BCSO said a drone was utilized to help locate the stranded recreationists and safely transport them from the river.
